When I downloaded the Batman: Arkham Asylum demo on my 360, I would get a disc "unreadable error" while watching the intro cutscene. The tip suggested I should take out the disc and clean it with a soft cloth. I did, and now my 360 is so 1337 it prints money.
Clearly, Xbox is the superior system.

I own a PS3 and Wii and have enjoyed them thoroughly for the past year and half (didn't even have a computer for the past year really.)
I like consoles alot, but I generally dislike XBOX because Microsoft sucks donkey dick, and not the good kind either. Its an inferior system just like the Jews are an inferior race. Its only time until there is a console holocaust.

I will give you the fact that Xbox 360s are absolutely terribly made. I've had to fix my own Xbox's red ring problem twice (actual modding, not the towel trick) and it's really only a matter of time before I will probably have to buy a new one and mod it. For the non-modder though, Microsoft's customer support is actually exceptionally good for how large a company they are.
I cannot, however, give the PS3 the "better console" award. There is a reason so many developers dropped Sony from their "to-do" list. The console is bogged down with proprietary bullshit and the only reason I would ever buy my own (I actually play it regularly, it's just not mine) is for a BluRay player but with being able to buy a pretty decent BluRay for 180 bucks now a days, I can't find a single reason to buy a PS3.
Final Fantasy?
edit: On topic; while I hate Peter Molyneux with a silly passion.. I actually enjoyed Fable 2.. Even though there are no armor types.. AGAIN.. Learn2RPG, Peter.. Fer serrious. a

The only reasons I would buy a PS3 are God of War 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4. And those are two very strong reasons, but I can't justify spending that kind of dough on a console, it just hurts my sensibilities.

While it's all nice and cute that I can use any overpriced 2.5" laptop HDD, bluetooth and wireless accessories, the PS3's OS is utter crap. The system is notoriously difficult to develop for and it renders like crap. It's overpriced thanks, in part, to the Blu Ray player, which was developed by Sony. The processor, which I think is crap, was also developed by Sony. While the Xbox 360's Xenon processor is partially based on the Cell, it is supposed to be entirely easier to program for.
It's also nice that I don't have to purchase an external wireless adapter like I do with the Xbox, but the built in one is crap anyways and it doesn't support 802.11n yet so you may as well buy a third-party wireless-n adapter.
Of course, I just made all that up.

1. I never said it was *more* proprietary, I said that it was bogged down with proprietary bullshit. I fail to see how that insinuates it is any more or less proprietary than any other console? In my last post I went out of the way to state that it was an open system, but that a lot of the things developed by Sony I found to be bad.
2. Plenty of dudes I take at their word have said the PS3 renders like crap; that's why when developing for the PS3 and Xbox simultaneously the PS3 is usually done first because the Xbox can do anything, and better, that the PS3 can. Take Dragon Age (BioWare) for example. They're still fixing problems with the PS3 rendering their game poorly. The dudes at Steam have said the same.
3. I don't understand how you can say the cell was released before it's time and then say that the future requires multi-core chips. I don't know much about it other than what I've read that it's a pile. Maybe your infinite Aussie wisdom can enlighten me.
4. The Xenon's cores are modified versions of the Cell's. Microsoft contracted IBM to build the Xenon based on the Cell's core.
5. You took that asshole class. A+, sir!

2. Because their game engines came from the pc world and the xbox more closley models that. The stuff i said about ram on the ps3 also affects this. ps3 rolls way hard on parallel tasks especially involving floating point numbers (used extensivley in TODAYS GAYMES). You mentioned source ('the dudes at steam' are actually valve & thier engine is called source) -- that engine runs a couple of threads for rendering, sound, physics, etc. not the way that things run well on the cell. Yes this is sony's fault for being so radically different.
3. Because the cell is a multi-core cpu that specialises in doing floating point calculations faster than homeless niggers can drink a 40.
4. WRONG. The 360 runs a PowerPC chip. That architecture has been out since 92.

The whole Xenon and Cell being developed at the same time by the same people was actually a big story earlier this year when David Shippy released his novel, "The Race For A New Game Machine". Have you read anything about that? (It took me like 10 minutes to find that dude's name.)

The only game I can think of that I would play on an XBOX is Mass Effect...and I can buy that for the PC anyways. XBOX simply has nothing to offer me, I could care less about how each system runs and what system is better for anal sex.
PS3 simply has a significant amount of games worth paying $50 for over the XBOX which has a total of 1-2 decent games that are usually playable on the PC (Which is x10 more powerful than the Wii, PS3, and XBOX combined.)
I will give XBOX a better surface to take a shit on because it is flat and rectangular unlike the PS3 which is more rounded and has odd edges. I can easily fit more amounts of my solid and liquid fecal matter on top of an XBOX.
