I was going to make a topic about this but was too lazy. They are trying to keep the story somewhat a secret so all they told the public so far is that you are living in a post apocalyptic world in Washington D.C. You are part of a community thats been living in the Vault your whole life. The vault is basically a bomb shelter in the mountains. Your father escaped the vault and you decide to go looking for him. The Enclave is supposedly the new government. Not much else has been said about the factions and their motives. The game is made by Bethesda so ya same engine as oblivion. This game is like a future oblivion with even more stuff to do. Im definatly getting it. Heres the 5 part series of videos they showed at PAX in August, PLEASE check them out. They're awesome. I'm 99% going to get it on release day, even though I'm pretty sure it will make me angry.
From their propaganda, I would say that Fallout 3 is kind of like Oblivion with these differences:
- Actual RPG style branching dialog trees (and hopefully people who don't change voices every two seconds LOL!)
- A game world which actually reacts to the players actions
- A real time or real time with pause (for aiming at specific body parts) combat system; I'm not really sure of all the ins and outs of the combat
- Uses the SPECIAL stats system instead of Oblivion's level up as you use stuff method
- LESS RIDICULOUS ENEMY AUTO LEVELING
- Probably more
It would be pretty cool if they actually did all the things that they say it will, but Bethesda are morons. I wouldn't be surprised if it's essentially Oblivion with guns. For all this nonsense about player choice, reactive world, and dialog driven gameplay, all the videos pretty much just show them killing shit in supposedly cool ways. Todd fuckin' Howard.

Ya it is Telly, im getting it for PC too. Hopefully I can run it at max settings with no problem. What are the specs on your new comp? Here are the specs for the game if you didnt know already.

Yeah, I would definitely get it on PC if I have the chance. My PC is shit though, and I can't be bothered upgrading.
If any mods come out that I feel I have to play in the future when I have a good comp, I'll just pir8 the buggery out of it.

Anyone take a closer look at this game or planning on getting it? I really looked into the past few days and it seems to be identical to Elders Scroll, is it supposed to be the same format RPG game?
