I'm curious to see if people will be able to pirate the new D3/SC2 when they come out. To be honest I really doubt it. My guess is that all of the content will be behind Blizzard authentication servers on Battle.net (i.e. you won't be able to play at all, even single player, without a connection to Blizzard servers) and everything will be locked down by the most hardcore DRM ever invented by mortal man.

Like I said, I really doubt it. I imagine you will have to authenticate (as if you were playing multi player) even to play single player. This is becoming more and more standard practice in non-Blizzard games.

yeah but telly even steam has been circumvented & that requires an internet connection to activate games even for single player. the difficulty to get around is the whole multiplayer activation key thing where there is a whitelist on the server that nobody can see and only one key is allowed to play at a time.
and even that will be circumvented by emulating battle.net like they did with the last version.

They showed that when you boot up Starcraft 2, the login screen for B.net is the first thing you see....although they did say you will be able to play the game offline. I figure this will be the same for D3

alright so i used to play hardcore singleplayer D2 but never played the multiplayer mode. are there guilds and shit? will we be able to chat easily with each other? it would be cool to see alot of the olde immune krewe playing together again

Jesus how could you stand to play singleplayer diablo 2 for five minutes.
Diablo 2 is like WoW in the sense that you play it for the human interaction and killing low-level gooks with your friends, not the actual boring, repetitive game IMOx10.
Plus if you roll hard like me/matt/conrad you just run the bot every night or on a separate box 24/7 and buy massive amounts of items.
The monk looks pretty crappy though. He looks like he has some cool, complex moves that aren't that damaging to individual targets. In diablo 2 it was a rule that all the coolest/most thought out classes: the paladin (except for hammerdins in pve and chargeadins in duels), the druid, the necro, and the assassin were always much shittier than the use-one-move-and-dominate-everything classes.

All I know is that they better not have implemented any changes in the way people have to xfer items across characters. I am gonna make a fucking killing by using my jewish manual brute force password cracking of games named/passworded xfer/xfer, trans/fer, 123/123. I will also definitely be making a run speed specced assassin to follow mules in games such as "Act 1 Start" and dash ahead of them to steal their shit.

Ultimately, I am just not excited whatsoever about this game. The days when I could sit and endlessly grind mobs with infinite patience are long over, and Diablo doesn't even have the WoW advantage of a timely respawn. If I were to get D3, I'm sure it would be fun as hell for like two or three months, then become an endless monotony of trying to keep pace with people that have far more free time on their hands than do I. Yawn.
