They shrink a small amount, but remain there unless you get them removed. You stop the supply of testosterone by increasing the levels of estrogen, which takes advantage of negative feedback loops in the endocrine system. Alternatively, you can take one of many anti-androgens, though after a year or so on estrogen, it's not really necessary. Estrogen does damage testicular tissue, though, so after a while it becomes a moot point altogether.
