Windows... 7?
Not... Crashing?
In... Beta?
Meh. I'm not worried at this stage. I'll pick it up, when they insert all the bugs and generally fuck it up.

I haven't had it for too long, but I'm most likely going to be using it as my primary OS.

What are your specs? for a man with 2 gig ram should I invest? I did install it on a separate partition already and booted it up once for 10 mins, but then for some reason it didn't auto-find the driver for my wireless usb key , meaning I couldn't play wow. Haven't been back since but i might.

I have a 3700+ with 2 gigs of RAM. Pretty ancient junk.
This shit is way faster than my XP install. The only problem I've encountered that might make me go back to XP is crackly sound with my Audigy 1. It's not a problem that everybody gets though. I'm gonna download some unnoffical drivers tonight which will hopefully fix the problem.
EDIT: I just went back to onboard audio and it's fine anyway. All thumbs up for me.
It shouldn't be hard to get drivers for you wireless thingy. It's fully compatibile with all Vista drivers. You might have to put it in compatibility mode for vista, just so the installer doesn't whinge about the OS.

I don't really know how much of this stuff was in vista.
There's a new button on the bottom left to preview desktop/minimize everything. It's good because you don't need to look for it, you just swing your mousse down to the bottom right corner.
They got rid of native support for the quick launch bar (you can get it back though by being tricky). They replace it with this weird shit called pinning to taskbar. Basically a program icon just sits on the taskbar in the middle of all your open windows and shit, and you click on it to open the program. I thought it was pretty lame though so I didn't use it.
You can drag the buttons for all your open windows around on the taskbar now.
Windows explorer generally just has a lot more cool stuff hanging around.
Can't think of anything else right now.
OH YEAH IT HAS THIS THING CALLED ACTION CENTER. IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A SECRET AGENT EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE JUST A FAT CUNT SITTING ON A COMPUTER.

Will I be able to free upgrade from Vista to 7? I can dream.
Vista isn't bad, I haven't had any crashes or any speed issues at all that people have talked about. But all the permission/administrative constant interruptions you get trying to do the most basic things are frustrating.

Xtap are there any options to set the shit you don't like back to windows classic stuff? Like can you use windows classic folders? The other day I had to help a bunch of faggots on their vista machines and I was getting pissed as shit

What's a windows classic folder? I don't really notice anythign different there. :s
You can't go back to the original start menu, but after being forced to use the win7 one, I kind of like it.
You can get the task bar to act pretty much the same way as the old shit. Mine is still using the same setting up I had for win98.

It loads faster than XP for me. It's a bit weird to use at first (I don't know if it's similar to Vista at all, since I ignored that piece of shit), but I'm getting used to it and it's pretty good. Even though it's a beta, I haven't had any horrible crashes or anything like that.
I would provide a link to get the key, but the favourites link is on XP LOL!
