At first glance, Warhammer PvE does not look that enthralling. I'm not going to lie to you either, there's a lot of grind X amount of Y quests.
However, you can't really judge Warhammer PvE on those qualities. Warhammer is not WoW, and WoW is not warhammer. They might look similar, but you're not playing the same game.
In spite of the PvE difference between the two games, I really do prefer Warhammer.
Solo Questing:
They simplified PvE, making it easy. You don't have to break your back to complete solo quests, you get area's marked on the map where your quest objectives are. I can also tell you that there's no "Fuck you, you need to kill an elite mob" solo quests. They solo quests are REALLY EASY. I can't state that enough. And if you're a lore nerd, each and every quest has a fuckton of text you can wade through.
Group Questing:
There's a lot of different things you can do in Warhammer's group questing. There are public quests, lairs, and instances.
- Public quests
Public quests are the most fucking fun things I've done PvE-wise. They consist of an area having PvE objectives that you need to fulfill. The first stages are usually kill X amount of Y easy mobs, or pick up X amount of Y items from the area. The second stages usually spawn Champion (elite) mobs, which you then have to kill. Or, you'll be given the task to protect a group of mobs for X amount of time. The last stages have Hero (Epic) mobs (usually 1) which you have to kill.
The loot from them is also good. The PQ measures your overall contribution and awards you a rank for it. It will then give you a random ass roll to that rank, which will determine if you get loot or not.
After you get the loot bag from your overall contribution rank, you can then choose what you want from the bag, be it armor/weapon, crafting stuff, or money.
It's a lot of fun to do these with a group. Me, Lusia, and Stash have been pumping these out for the last few days and I've been having a ball.
-Lairs
Apparently, although I haven't done one yet, there is a lair in every zone containing an epic mob. These mobs could be compared to Raid Boss Mobs. Apparently they're pretty hard and need a large group. You need to know strats, I assume.
-Instances
Instances, after having done a higher level one tonight, are pretty fun as well and give really good exp. They're really huge, fun with a group, and a huge no brainer. You just rock in, peace shit out, and get to the instance bosses. The bosses have their own strats and stuff. It's interesting.
As for us not being that active of late, I can't really speak for other people so I don't know why they haven't been on. But it's going to happen. We're all growing up, and we're all going to have less time for games. Warhammer can be pretty casual though, so I'm not going to mind if I ever have to cut back. But, pretty soon, you won't have to worry about not having people to play with. I was talking with some people tonight and there's a huge Alliance thing in the works. I'm pretty sure that soon there's always going to be someone connected to Fiction online. There's going to be things happening, and anyone from Fiction will be welcome to get in on that.
Meh. WoW or WAR? I say, at least give WAR a month trial, while keeping in mind its still going through its birthing stages as a game. It's not a perfect game yet, but its getting there. It's being constantly worked on, and patch notes are up on a week to week basis, as well as pretty constant hotfixes. It's really hard to describe WAR as an overall game, because I think its so different that it needs to be experienced to know what its like.
I'm always up for rolling an alt with you if you want to try it.

is there a trial system for WAR? I'd def lvl a white lion with some guys if they wanna try it out, im still ahead of the curve on my RP and waiting for the majority of the server to catch up.

At this point I am just sure as shit that it ain't worth playing MMOs anymore. I've recently been enjoying my HDTV along with my PS3 and Wii greatly.

I don't think there's even a chance that WAR's PvE can even be compared to WoW PvE, and thats one of the things that has been pushing me towards playing WotLK over WAR.
WoW PvE is pretty good, and I've always wanted to enjoy it but that just wasn't possible at all due to the stupidity of having to spend 4-6 hours in a raid every day in order to progress. Now it's a fact that PvE will be much simpler for guilds like us, and much more "casual-friendly", so I will actually be able to enjoy another part of the game, which is supposedly the best part.
PvP in WotLK however, is still a mystery I guess, and that's what I'm waiting on before I actually try to decide which game to play. They've been talking about re-focusing the game on bg's, and if that indeed happens, and they create a new decent PvP system, there's no doubt I'll be playing WoW, but if it's anything similar to the current system, I'm done with that shit, I wouldn't play the game just for the PvE.
The thing is, even if I decide not to play WoW, I'm not sure I'd want to play WAR. I didn't enjoy the game at all while I was playing it, for various reasons. Sure, the world pvp sounds nice, but the only thing that really attracts me about WAR is being able to play with the Immune crew, and apparently that's not happening either. When I was playing there were usually only 2-3 ppl online who I knew, and from what Telly said, I'm guessing I wouldn't even see that many if I logged on right now. And considering I'm only playing 1-2 hours a day, I'm guessing I'd be playing by myself 90% of the time, so that's a huge turnoff about WAR for me. That's pretty much where I stand regarding WAR. If we can really get the Immune crew together, I'd be happy to join in, but if it's gonna be half a dozen ppl from Immune and 90 other randoms I never heard of, I really have no interest in playing it.

Telly, convince the virginia crew to play and maybe the long island will actually stop being pussies and play as well if we really get everyone doing it. Ya, because I doubt I'll really play Warhammer unless there is a solid crew playing. I got like 4-5 new PS3 games to get in the next few months and I always got plenty of Smash Brothers to be working on.

I got the game and I'm liking it a lot so far. It really invents battlegrounds and makes them much more interesting and worthwhile. I haven't seen many people on though. When do you guys play?
