Marauder v. Black Orc

Whats the difference? Their abilities and main functions? From what I am seeing Marauder looks like it might be an underplayed class, but looks like a class that is made for just tearing shit up on the battlefield. Of course, Black Orcs looks nasty as hell too, but whats the differences between the two aside from what I can see (armor). Quote

The difference between black orc and marauder is their class.

The black orc is a tanking class, so it gets heavier armor and it can take more damage.

The marauder is a damage class, so it gets lighter armor but can probably do more damage.

In WoW terms...

Black Orc = Warrior
Marauder = Rogue Quote

I don't think "WoW terms" is a suitable explanation. Rogues are squishy.

Every race is (was) divided into 4 types of classes. Melee DPS, Melee Tank, Ranged DPS and Healer types.

For Greenskins:
Tank: Black Orc
Melee DPS: Choppa (Scrapped)
Ranged DPS: Squig Herder
Ranged Caster/Healer: Shaman

For Chaos:
Tank: Chosen
Melee DPS: Marauder
Ranged DPS: Magus
Healer Type: Zealot

For Dark Elves:
Tank: Black Guard (Scrapped)
Melee DPS: Witch Elf
Ranged DPS: Sorceress
Healer Type: Disciple of Khaine

So you see, it's not that they're at all squishy. They will, in theory, do more damage and take more damage though. Quote

Yeah, I was thinking that I hadn't explained it correctly.

But, in any case, it won't be like WoW, where rogues couldn't out-dps warriors, I think. I think Marauder will easily out-dps Black Orc's, but they won't be able to take as much damage as Black Orc's.

Different class mechanics as well. From what I've seen, Black Orc combat mechanics go with a "No plan >> Plan >> Good Plan" thing, with basic moves on the No Plan level, Better ones at Plan level and Awesome moves with Good Plan. So... It might be a combo sort of system? Some moves unlock other ones?

Whereas Marauder class mechanics are all about the mutating arm, and what you change it to, because each mutation of the arm has a different function, combat wise. So... The Bone Spike arm mutation is the straight high damage mutation, the Claw arm mutation is more damage/bleeding effects maybe, and the Flesh Club arm mutation is a more defensive/multi-target combat style.

So maybe think of the Black Orc as a Warrior type class with the WoW rogue functionality of the combo thingy, and think of the Maruader as a Rogue type class with the WoW warrior sort of functionality? Quote

yes black orcs use 2 handers and can definatly rape. Another reason i would prefer black orc is because of the guard move, which is the move where you take 50% of the damage an ally is taking as long as he is in range. That would be beastly on one of us couples with my harbinger curse. Quote

I figured Black Orc might have some better abilities for the group and its survival along with the beastly damage I want to do. Seems like that'll be my first choice, definitly going to make a Marauder after the Black Orc though. Quote
