I'd like to be playing Warhammer (or something else new), however there are glaring errors which stand out to me that are ruining that game.
1) Zone design is awful, both factions are segregated from level 1 to max level and it is difficult to world pvp in a game that is supposed to be all about world pvp. The world pvp "zones" are dead as fuck because they are huge and pointless with no incentive to be occupied when people have more fun queuing for battlegrounds. It's funny that you actually have more World PVP on Core (PVE) servers than Open RVR (PVP) servers because on the Core servers people have to goto the World PVP Zones and you end up with tons of fighting and on the Open servers the only world battles you find are people ganking 20 levels below them in the starting zones.
2) The Battlegrounds are extremely fun and there are lots of them but it takes really long to get into games for the most part. After the most recent "queue balance" patch, you end up waiting in queue for 30 minutes for a 5-10 minute game. That is what made me cancel my account.
3) The leveling takes a nosedive from Level 15 on. Once you get into mid-Tier 2 it seems to take FOREVER to level and seems like less and less fun doing so. The highest guy I got was Level 21 and I couldn't play it anymore there was just nothing fun about it. I don't know why this is because the early game is REALLY FUN, but as you get on its just like "do more of this exact same thing, but LONGER AND LONGER" for no real discernible purpose because you get most of your core skills really early on and then each time you level it's just like "hey, here's +2.5 dmg to your nuke".
4) Keep sieging, which should be a central part of the game, sucks cock and is boring as hell and is really not fun to siege or defend a keep at all, period. One game of Strand of the Ancients in WOW is better than 10 Keep Raids in Warhammer. They should have done a lot better job with this and there is really no excuse.

WOW:WOTLK has problems too it seems like from what I have experienced and what I've read on the forums:
1) Early PVP Balance is suspect, it seems like it is moving back to World of Oneshotcraft like it was at the end of Vanilla WOW with super-geared 60s. I think that will change when everyone is packing tons of resilience at 80, but right now it's not great.
2) Early PVE Tuning seems really weak. None of the instances have been even remotely challenging and I've heard that the raids/heroics aren't much better. I mean like jokingly easily, like pulling 7-9 mobs at a time that are 3+ levels on me just to keep my healer from falling asleep. It's probably b/c we are overgeared or overskilled or whatever, but it's just not tuned to be difficult enough.
Well see how things shake out, maybe they will make Warhammer drastically better and we will all go back to that, maybe WOW will shake off it's early errors in LK and we will keep playing that more and more

the leveling in wow so far hasn't been that bad actually. However I am taking into consideration I have done hardly anything, but it seems there is plenty of new refreshing shit to do.

the only problem with warhammer imo is that not enough people played. Leveling was fast imo even at level 30 i could get 5% of the way through a level from one game of pvp which may take 5-10min. I never had a problem with que times but that may be the days i play on. I also found sieges to be fun as fuck but you have to roll with a group of good people.

wait till you see Lake Wintergrasp PVP Zone in WOW. We did it twice last night as a guild and it shits all over Warhammer Keeps. Tanks, Cannons, Rocket Launchers, Sieges, Recon Missions, everything.

Dude you can do it any level 70+ and it's certainly not really heavily penalized for being under level cap. Sif and HK were in there last night with us and they were 71 and 72. We won the attack round in under 10 minutes and got the achievement, fukken raped.

I am saddened to hear that Draghun has rolled out WoW once again.
I will be playing Warhammer in the next few days and I WILL be playing it for an extended period of time on ONE server as Destruction.
All are welcome to join me but I will not give into indecisive ideas such as continually moving servers or switching to Order classes.
Destruction, very big server, Blackguard or Marauder. Already made up my mind.

Even rolling on the biggest server you have to wait 30 minutes in queue for a Battleground to pop and there's hardly any Open PVP at all to be had. You will quit before you even come close to max level. You are wasting your money. It's a great concept with horrible implementation.

i know, but i was more concerned with getting to 80 than bgs, but yeh wintergrasp is fucken tits, a guild pm would rape assholes in there, like it more than strand of the ancients.

I found some good internet to steal so I may be rolling out with a 1k ping right into some immune BGs. WPA2-PSK isn't very secure if your passphrase is "internet" by the way.
edit: I just bought wotlk on amazon so I'll be all patched up and ready to roll out on some chobs in about 2 weeks.
